TABLE OF CONTENTS
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the junior program is to teach children the fundamentals of the golf swing as it applies to all aspects of the game. To educate them on the rules and etiquette of the game and to develop the social skills necessary to the game.

ELIGIBILITY
Junior program is open to all T.G.C.C. members, which includes Unlimited, Limited, Social members under 18 years of age.
FEES
There are no fees to participate in the junior program.
SIGN UP
Sign up in person the first day of the event. Upon registration each child will receive a grab bag of golf accessories.
DRESS CODE
Appropriate golf attire must be worn on the golf course, practice range and putting green at all times. Juniors will not be permitted to play unless in compliance with this dress code.
•Denim pants, shorts, and dresses, skirts and jackets of any color prohibited.
•Shorts must be of Jamaican length (mid-thigh). Shorts specifically prohibited include: cut-offs, gym shorts, hot pants and cargo pants.
•For boys, shirts without collars are prohibited. Mock and turtlenecks shirts are considered collared shirts. Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
•For Girls, shirts must cover shoulder. Tee shirts and tank tops are prohibited.
•Hats, caps and visors must be worn in the conventional way at all times.
• Golf shoes with soft spikes or tennis shoes only no street shoes or bare feet.
GOLF COURSE ACCESS
Children under 18 years of age must pass a written golf rules and etiquette test and be accredited for play by the Golf Professional before they will be permitted on the golf course unaccompanied by and adult. The Golf Professional may withdraw this accreditation at any time. An adult must accompany all unaccredited children at all times.
Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays: After 2:00 p.m.
Mondays: Anytime
Tuesdays: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and later
Wednesdays: 11:30 a.m. and later
Thursdays: Prior to 12:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and later Fridays: 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and after 3:00 p.m.
Note: Only children of Unlimited Members have access to the golf course. Junior’s that are guests of an Unlimited Member are required to pay a junior guest fee and must be accompanied by a member at all times.
Note: The golf rules and etiquette test are obtained and must be completed in the Pro Shop. (Average time to complete the test approximately 15 minutes). Each junior must successfully complete the test only once, but can take the test as many times as necessary to pass.
Each junior upon successfully completing the test will receive a bag tag certifying his or her accomplishment.
DID YOU KNOW
2008 any male junior with a course handicap of 9 or lower from the men’s tee with an entry fee of $25.00 can play in the Men’s Stroke Play Club Championship.
• Juniors will be seated in the respective flight based on their handicap.
• Juniors will be eligible to win the overall “Stroke Play Club Championship”
• Juniors will not be eligible to win their flight or flight prizes.
•A special “Low Junior” trophy will be awarded.
2008 any male junior with a course handicap of 9 or lower from the men’s tee with no entry fee can play in the Men’s Match Play Club Championship Qualifier.
• Qualifier is for the championship flight only
• Junior’s that qualify for the championship flight have an opportunity to win the “Men’s Match Play Club Championship”
• No monetary prizes will be awarded.

THINGS TO REMEMBER
1. All juniors must carry their own bag; no carts or caddies permitted.
2. Juniors are responsible for playing in accordance with the U.S.G.A. Rules of Golf.
3. Juniors must conduct themselves properly at all times. Unsportsmanlike conduct such as throwing clubs and profanity, etc. will not be tolerated. With the first offense, the individual will be warned. The second offense will result in a meeting with the junior, the parent (s), and the Junior Golf Chairman. Any serious breaches of conduct may result in suspension.
4. Note: Proper Etiquette must be practiced at all times, as follows:
PLAY WITHOUT DELAY – Keep up with the group in front of you. Slower groups should let faster groups play through.
Replace divots, Rake bunkers and Repair ball marks.
Do not hit until the group in front of you is out of range. Wait your turn; player farthest from the hole should be the first to play.
Do not move around or make noise while others are playing. Always stand away and behind the person playing a shot.
Always call “ FORE” if a ball is struck toward anyone on the course.
Show the proper respect to adults at all times.

JUNIOR INTERCLUB OF BALTIMORE

TEAM MATCHES
Eligible:
• Boys and Girls ages 10 to 17.
• Must be Unlimited Members of Towson Golf and Country Club.
• Must qualify for the team. (Low four scores for each age group, 13 & under, 14 & 15, 16 & 17) will make the team. Two of the four will play in the first match with the other two playing the following match, etc. total of five matches.
Format:
• 13 & Under will play 9-holes medal play from the red tees.
• 14 – 17 will play 18-holes medal play, Boys white tees, Girls red tees.
• USGA RULES will govern play.
Match:
• Each team member is responsible for their own transportation. If transportation can not be obtained, please notify the Pro Shop.
• One should arrive at the course and half hour prior to start.
